BioJars is a highly secure online, mobile-responsive platform where memories and personal information can be organised and stored safely in one place.

Each item of content can be shared/passed on one, some or all people now or in the future.  

People can be invited to join a BioJars Tribe and what content is shared is determined with Timelock and the Secret Keeper settings for each Memory, Thing or Password.

Guardians are granted permission to access what they may need and enable data to be transitioned to become a digital legacy on death.

Online memorial, a legacy of a loved and lost, can be created and accessed via a Remembrance Wall. A Digital Legacy can be viewed online, shared outside of the BioJars App (content with a public setting) and printed as a book.

BioJars has templates and prompts to guide people to write a life journal, organise and store important documents and other things and save passwords.

Content is collated together in a Life Bio or a Legacy Bio (for a person that has died) that can be viewed on a Life or Remembrance Wall.

Nominated Guardians can manage a Bio in life of death depending on the individual permissions that have been granted.

The security of your content is our priority.

All content uploaded to BioJars is encrypted on transit and during storage so it is safe (unless content is uploaded with a public setting in the Secret Keeper). BioJars uses two independent levels of security protection.

The first level comprises all of the most secure versions of built-in security features that are available in computers, tablets, mobiles, and cloud storage systems. This combination of features provides a fully encrypted solution for the transmission of user content to BioJars’ cloud storage facilities for its storage. This encryption is both individualised to users and to the content.

The second and completely independent level of security – which is unique to BioJars – a specially developed encryption engine *patent pending* that uniquely protects each and every item of content before it is stored.

BioJars Encryption Engine Guarantee

Even if the most secure publicly available security features of Microsoft & Apple computers, Android & Apple phones, and Amazon cloud services were breached, then a person’s BioJars content will still be secure.

This independent security is managed by a system that has no outside connectivity and therefore can’t be connected to by a hostile attacker. It is uniquely encrypted per item and has features such as time unlocking and security rules that mean when it is downloaded or uploaded by a user it only exists in an intermediate transmitted system, or caches, momentarily.

Decide the overall level of privacy by selecting the Public or Private setting in Edit Bio .

If set to Public, a Bio will appear in BioJars Searches and display the first & last name, profile image, name & locality of the persons Bio. Memories & Things will divert to their individual Secret Keeper Settings that were set.

If set to Private, a Bio will appear in the BioJars searches, but only a first and last name will be displayed. Profile image and all other identifying details will be concealed. This will also conceal Memories & Things that have been given a Public Secret Keeper setting. Members of a Tribe will still see all content as normal.

BioJars is not a document writing or legal service.

Documents such as Wills, Powers of Attorneys & Advance Care Directives must be prepared by a solicitor or alternatively an online service.

BioJars is not legally binding on Executors, Health Care Proxies (Enduring Guardians) or any other parties.

Legally binding documents such as Wills, Powers of Attorneys & Advance Care Directives can be uploaded with the encryption engine to BioJars to be stored and accessed by people who are granted permission to.

BioJars can assist Executors to view documents in a timely manner, find where the original signed documents are located, and what is the latest revision.

BioJars uses the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning software to moderate audio (including speech to text), image and video content submitted to BioJars. This includes explicit nudity, suggestive sexual situations, visually disturbing, violence, hate symbols, rude gestures, drugs, alcohol & gambling. 

The AI software automatically analyses content and suspends content that is suspect and informs the BioJars Moderation Team of the reason for rejection.This ensures that BioJars enables content moderation (with reference to the Santa Clara Principles on transparency and accountability) whilst balancing the requirement not to decrypt user content successfully uploaded to the BioJars Platform.

In order to meet regulatory requirements, BioJars will decrypt any users stored content having been provided with the relevant legal authority of law enforcement agencies in the jurisdiction an alleged offense has occurred.

BioJars may decrypt content if there are reasonable grounds to investigate a breach of BioJars Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy.

If a user has any concerns about content moderation or the BioJars App being utilised for abusive, obscene, corrupt or illegal behavior, please contact BioJars at support@biojars.com immediately.

24 Memories, 24 Things (Documents) & 16 Passwords can be uploaded to each Bio attached to a BioJars Basic account.

4 Life Bios (Child or Adult Assist) and 4 Legacy Bios can be attached to each BioJars Basic plan,  is a person can be the Guardian of a total of 8 Bios.

2GB of data can be stored across all Bios with a file size upload limit of 10MB. These limits do not allow video content to added to a free plan.

A BioJars Basic free account does not expire as long as it is used within a 3 year period and has a Guardian assigned.

In the event of death, a Guardian can transition a Life Bio to a Legacy Bio and any content will be preserved.

All other Life & Legacy Bios attached to the BioJars Basic account will be preserved (if a second Guardian is assigned to each individual Bio).

If a BioJars Basic free account is inactive for more than 3 years, it’s Guardian will be contacted to confirm the status other their Ward. If the Ward has died, theirLife Bio will be transferred to aLegacy Bio and all content will be preserved.

If a BioJars Basic free account is inactive for more than 3 years and a Guardian has not been assigned, all data will be deleted and the BioJars Basic account closed.

A person will not have to upgrade to a paid plan unless they want to add more than 24 Memories, 24 Things or 16 Passwords to their Life Bio or need to increase upload file size or storage capacity.

As long as a person is the Guardian of 4 Life Bios and 4 Legacy Bios or less a paid plan is not required.

A Guardian does not require a paid plan to transition a Life Bio to a Legacy Bio of a person on a paid plan. (A person who dies content is preserved for always)

A Guardian will require a paid plan if additional content is added to a Legacy Bio and their Basic Plan limits have been exceeded.

BioJars lifetime offer is a once-only payment. This offer will only be available for a limited period. 

The BioJars platform keeps pace with future technology changes. Therefore, in the long-term BioJars will need to continuously migrate to new systems and storage solutions and has to be financially viable as a business to ensure the longevity of the app.

This requires a team of specialists to ensure data is safe and secure across time not only by people who exist today but future generations too. It’s the old adage, you get what you pay for!

A person on a BioJars Gold paid plan for more than 3 years can choose to transfer to BioJars Vault.

A BioJars Vault plan allows a person to add or edit 3 Memories, 3 Things or 3 Passwords each year on each Bio attached to the BioJars Account for free.

If more access to the BioJars app is required, a monthly or annual subscription for as long as it takes to finish updates is required, before transferring back to BioJars Vault.

A BioJars account can be deleted in the Setting menu and all data is deleted from BioJars servers permanently.

If a person is on a paid plan, BioJars can download your content and return it to you in a zip file, permanently delete your account and any attached Bios from the BioJars servers. 

BioJars is developing a feature that will facilitate a person initiating saving data and deleting an account without the need to contact BioJars.

In the event of death, a Guardian can transition a Life Bio to your Legacy Bio and all content will be preserved. 

All other Life & Legacy Bios attached to an account will be preserved if they have been assigned a second Guardian.

Bio is short for Bibliography.

In the BioJars App, a Bio is the term used for all of a person’s personal information and content uploaded to BioJars.

A Bio is attached to a person’s BioJars account. Other people’s Bios can also be attached to a person’s account.

A Bio is either a Life Bio or a Legacy Bio.

A living person has a Life Bio. A Legacy Bio is an online memorial for a person that has died.

A Life Bio can be a transition to a Legacy Bio by a person’s BioJars Guardian when a person dies. It is essential that all BioJars users assign at least one Guardian to manage their Life Bio.

A BioJars user can create a Bio for a child, adult or a person that has died.

The BioJar user is called a Guardian of a Life or Legacy Bios they create or accept an invitation to manage.

Select +Add Ward from the Wards page under the Tribe sub-menu, then choose the type of Bio to be created.

Life Bios and Legacy Bios are listed on the Wards page and can also be accessed from the Top Menu RHS Dropdown.

Guardians edit a Ward’s Bio by switching the Bio they are editing.

The name and profile image on the Top Menu bar (RHS) shows the active Bio that is being edited (either their own Bio or one of their Ward’s Bios).

Select +Add Ward from the Wards page, then choose the relevant child Life Bio, fill in the child’s details (an email address for a child under 13 is not required). Check the acknowledgment box and select Create Bio.

The child’s Life Bio will be attached to your BioJars account and you will be a Guardian of this Life Bio. A child under 13 may not have their own BioJars Account.

To protect a child’s privacy, only the first & last name of a child is displayed in the BioJars search. Profile image and all other identifying details are concealed.

When a child reaches the age of 13 their Life Bio can be assigned to them, but you must still be their Guardian until they turn 18.

BioJars recommends a child’s email is added when they turn 13, so they can have access to their Life Bio and start adding their own content to build their digital life & legacy.

Select +Add Ward under the Wards page, choose Life Bio followed by Assisted Life Bio, fill in the adult’s details including your relationship to them. If the person doesn’t have an email account, create a free one for them and add this. Check the acknowledgment box and select Create Bio.

This Life Bio is attached to your account, you will be the adult’s BioJars Guardian, they will be your BioJars Ward. This Life Bio will also be attached to a new BioJars Basic account accessed via the email address provided.

This is a useful feature to create a Life Bio for an adult that can’t use a computer or lacks the mental capacity to do so, ie a person with a severe disability or illness.

Select +Add Ward under the Wards page then choose Legacy Bio, fill in the person’s details. Check the acknowledgment box and select Create Bio.

This Legacy Bio is attached to your account, you will be it’s BioJars Guardian, the person will be your BioJars Ward.  It is good practice to invite a second BioJars user to become a Guardian of a Legacy Bio.

Add information to the Memory Jars about your Ward’s life. Upload any important documents such as their birth and death certificate in the Things Jars. Add details of any memorialized social media accounts in their Password Jars.

Invite family and friends to join your Ward’s Tribe (not yours) so they can read their legacy and leave tributes.

Don’t forget you can still decide who can see what information about your Ward by setting the Secret Keeper when uploading or editing content.

A Pet Bios feature will be added to BioJars in the near future.

Both Life Bios to keep all your pet records and memories in one place, and Legacy Bios to add to your BioJars Remembrance Wall.

On a BioJars Gold Plan, a person can be the Guardian of unlimited Life and Legacy Bios.

A Life Bio Plan gives unlimited Life Bios. A Legacy Bio Plan gives unlimited Legacy Bios.

On a BioJars Free Forever account, a person can be the Guardian of 4 Life Bios and 4 Legacy Bios.

Jars refer to computer-generated virtual jars where data is stored encrypted.

Data is any content; text, images, voice/audio recordings and videos uploaded to BioJars.

1. Memory Jars – to capture a Life Journal.
2. Things Jars – to organise and store important documents & information.
3. Password Jars – to save logging details and passwords.

A further four types of Jars are being developed by BioJars and will be available in the future.

1. Wishes Jars – to provide end-of-life wellbeing and funeral/memorial wishes.
2. Message Jars – to leave letters and voice recordings for people to access in the future.
3. Wisdom Jars, to leave pearls of wisdom for future generations.
4. Health Jar, to store any Health and DNA records to pass on to family.

BioJars Users can view their Tribe’s Life Bios from their Life Wall, and Legacy Bios from their Remembrance Wall.

A Life Bio can toggle between the 3 Jars. Only Memories, Things and Passwords with a Time Lock setting for Life (or Life & Legacy) and the relevant Secret Keeper settings are displayed to individual Tribesters.

A Legacy Bio displays all Memories with a Time Lock setting for Legacy (or Life & Legacy) and the relevant Secret Keeper settings are displayed to individual tribesters both in an online and printable book format.

Any Memory with a pubic setting are displayed in the online legacy that can be shared outside of the BioJars App and listed in Google.

A Legacy Bio will display Things and Social Media Links in a future release of BioJars.

Each Memory and Thing has a text limit of 5000 characters.

This is to help sort thoughts and categorise memories, therefore giving a Life Bio (Journal or Story) or a Legacy Bio (online memorial or digital legacy)  structure.

It also assists us to write concisely, so a person reading a Life or Legacy Bio won’t get bored!

BioJars recommends the following Image resolution and file size to give a high-quality print with a dpi of 300.

An uncompressed 3-minute video or a compressed 30-minute video can be stored in BioJars.

Any file uploaded to BioJars is limited to 500MB

Videos cannot be uploaded on a BioJars Basic Free plan as the file upload size is limited to 10MB.

The video file types that can be added to BioJars are; mp4, avi, mov, flv, wmv

A person speaking can be recorded directly into a Memory or Thing using a smartphone, or a voice recording can be uploaded from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

The following audio file types can be uploaded to BioJars;

mp3, m4A, aac, mpeg, ogg, Wav, Webm, x-midi, midi

Select the plus sign in the grey box under add images, audio and video files when editing a Memory or Thing. Navigate to where your file is saved, and select the file.

A Tribe is a collection of people that have a Life or Legacy Bio in the BioJars App.

Each person builds their own Tribe by inviting family friends and others that may assist them.

A person can be invited to join a BioJars App or invited to join your Tribe if they are already a BioJars user.

Go to the Life Wall and select the appropriate button Add Tribester from the top RHS (right-hand-side) corner if they already use BioJars and follow the prompts. If a person doesn’t respond to your invite, cancel and send their invitation again.

A person can be invited to join the BioJars App from within BioJars.

Go to the Life Wall and select the button Invite to BioJars from the top RHS (right-hand-side) and follow the prompts. The link in this invitation will expire after 48 hours so it may need to be resent.

BioJars is a place to pass on memories and information securely to people now and in the future.

1. Personal data often sent via email or other carrier services can be used to cause financial loss or reputational damage.
2. Social media profiles get hacked and posted content is often lost or has to be deleted.
3. Content uploaded or shared may not be important or relevant to save for always. Who in the future will want to watch cat videos, fake news and memes inter-mingled with a life story?
4. People may have trouble locating real-life documents or soft copies of documents on old computers and knowing if they are the latest versions.
5. Family & friends located across State and International borders may require timely access to important information especially if a person has an accident, serious illness or dies.
6. Over 60% of us now rely on accessing personal profiles on social media sites as a memorial to someone we have loved.

There are very few apps/platforms that offer an encrypted storage solution that transcends time and with the ability to migrate data. So that a person can access their data now and can leave their digital legacy for their family and future generations.

A BioJars Life Wall is where all the Life Bios (Life Sories/Journals and Information) of  Tribesters are viewed. 

A BioJars Remembrance Wall is where all the Legacy Bios (online Memorials or Digital Legacies) of Tribesters (people in a Tribe) who have died are viewed.
